Embark on an unforgettable two-day adventure exploring the best of Northern Ireland, starting from Dublin. This tour is designed to immerse you in the rich history and vibrant culture of the region, including a visit to the renowned Titanic Belfast and the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Giant’s Causeway. Enjoy comfortable accommodations and indulge in delicious local cuisine while taking in breathtaking coastal scenery and historic landmarks. This is a must-see journey for anyone looking to experience the unique charm of Northern Ireland.
Gather at one of our convenient collection points in central Dublin (check the booking calendar for details) to begin your wonderful journey. Enjoy a scenic two-hour drive along the brand new 'Peace Highway,' with delightful stops along the way.
Our first stop is the haunting Monasterboice ruins, where you'll encounter a genuine 10th-century round tower and learn how our ancestors sought refuge from Viking invasions. Marvel at the exquisite Celtic crosses, intricately hand-carved by monks in the 9th century.
Upon arriving in Belfast, visit Northern Ireland’s premier attraction, the Titanic Experience (GBP 25.00 entry included)! This engaging exhibition will take you back in time to explore Titanic's story, from her conception in early 1900s Belfast, through her construction and launch, to her fateful maiden voyage and tragic end.
Afterward, you’ll have free time in the bustling downtown area of Belfast. We highly recommend the optional Black Taxi Tour (EUR 20.00 / GBP 15.00), which offers a political and historical journey through the city. You'll visit the Falls and Shankill Roads, view powerful murals and the peace wall, and learn about Belfast's complex history and its journey towards healing. This tour comes highly recommended by both National Geographic and Conde Nast Traveler.
During your free time, enjoy lunch and shop in Belfast’s vibrant downtown, where prices are typically lower than in Dublin. Don't miss the chance to explore the Crown Liquor Saloon, Grand Opera House, Botanical Gardens, City Hall, Queen's University, and the leaning Albert Clock.
You’ll spend the night in Belfast's historic University Quarter, surrounded by a wide array of bars, music venues, and excellent dining options to suit every budget.
After breakfast, your Northern Ireland adventure continues as your driver collects you from your accommodation around 09:30.
Relax in your premium touring seat as we travel through the picturesque County Antrim on our way to the North Coast of Ulster.
Our first stop is the stunning Dunluce Castle, the ancestral home of the McDonnell Clan and known to fans of Game of Thrones as the House of Greyjoy. Perched on cliffs overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean, this romantic ruin is steeped in history, having partially collapsed into the sea during a banquet centuries ago, tragically taking the lives of the kitchen staff. With the longer daylight hours starting from April 1st, you’ll have almost an hour to explore this captivating site, complete with a paid entrance for your convenience.
Next, we'll stop for lunch at a cozy pub near the Giant’s Causeway, where you can sample delicious Northern Irish food (lunch not included).
The highlight of your day awaits at the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Giant’s Causeway. Often referred to as 'The Eighth Wonder of the World,' this extraordinary location boasts approximately 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns, formed during a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago. As you explore, you'll discover why this natural attraction is considered one of the great wonders of the world. Local legends suggest that the Causeway was constructed by the ancient giant Finn McCool—decide for yourself!
We’ll wrap up the afternoon with a visit to the Dark Hedges, a hauntingly beautiful tree-lined avenue that has served as the driveway to an aristocratic estate since the 1700s. Game of Thrones enthusiasts will recognize this as the King’s Road! Enjoy ample time here for a stroll and some fantastic photo opportunities before we head back to Dublin.
A short refreshment stop will be made along the way, with our arrival back in downtown Dublin around 20:00.
We hope you’ve enjoyed your two days of exploration and discovery in Northern Ireland!
