Arrive London Heathrow where we will meet and take you to your central London hotel. To get the holiday off to a great start, we will include a visit to the spectacular Windsor Castle on the way in. Once checked in, free time for independent sightseeing.
Enjoy a Hop-on Hop-off city sightseeing tour of London taking in all the major points of interest, followed by a short cruise along the Thames from Westminster Bridge for a visit to the historic Tower of London which houses the Crown Jewels.
Take a taxi to London Paddington station and catch the morning train to the Roman city of Bath which is one of the UK’s absolutely must see destinations. Take a taxi to your centrally located hotel and after checking in, use the City Sightseeing Hop-on Hop-off bus tour to get your bearings and to learn about this beautiful city. Balance of the afternoon at leisure – maybe take in the magnificent medieval Abbey.
Use the 24-hour bus ticket to get you around today. A few of the strongly recommended visits this morning are the Circus and the stunningly refurbished Number One Royal Crescent, which vividly illustrates the opulence and grandeur of Jane Austen’s Georgian era. Just next door, you’ll find the Assembly Rooms and nearby the fascinating Fashion Museum, which houses iconic attire from the 18th century to the present day. Spend the afternoon at the Roman Baths where the audio tapes and the costumed interpreters will bring Roman Bath very much to life.
With a leisurely breakfast and some last minute retail therapy, take a taxi to the station for the afternoon train to London’s Paddington and then by taxi to the hotel. Theatre tickets for the performance of your choice can be booked in advance.
Today is a free day to enjoy London on your own.
