Begin your journey bright and early as we depart from London, heading north to England's breathtaking Lake District. Known for its pristine natural beauty, the Lake District is home to England’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Windermere. Take some time to enjoy the serenity of this iconic lake, surrounded by rolling hills and scenic vistas that have inspired countless poets and artists.
After experiencing the beauty of Lake Windermere, we travel onwards to Gretna Green, famous for its history as a popular destination for eloping couples. Explore the historic Blacksmith’s Shop and the Iron Forgeries, learning about Gretna Green’s storied past and the romance that fills the air here.
We continue our journey into Scotland and arrive in Glasgow, a vibrant city that blends rich history with modern attractions. Enjoy a guided city tour covering major landmarks, including the majestic Glasgow Cathedral, George Square with its grand statues and monuments, the renowned University of Glasgow, and the iconic City Chambers. Soak in Glasgow’s unique charm before settling in for the evening.

After breakfast, we head out to the stunning Loch Lomond, known for its tranquil beauty and Scotland’s largest freshwater loch. Here, you’ll have the option to take a relaxing boat cruise across the loch, enjoying the crisp Highland air while sipping on a warm cup of tea or coffee and taking in the breathtaking scenery around you.
Following our stop at Loch Lomond, we make our way to Fort William, a charming town that serves as the gateway to the Highlands. Our journey includes an ascent to the summit of the Nevis Range, where a cable car ride (weather permitting) takes you up to panoramic views of Ben Nevis and the surrounding mountains, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
After exploring the Nevis Range, we make a short stop at the Commando Memorial, a moving tribute to the brave soldiers who trained in this area during World War II. Before returning to Glasgow, we’ll also visit Neptune's Staircase, Britain’s longest staircase lock, where you can marvel at this engineering marvel and the boats that navigate its waters.

On our final day, we travel east towards the captivating city of Edinburgh. Known for its grand architecture and historical significance, Edinburgh offers a unique blend of old and new. During your free time, you may wish to visit the magnificent Edinburgh Castle (entrance not included), perched atop Castle Rock and offering spectacular views of the city. Dive into Edinburgh’s rich history and take in the atmosphere of this timeless city.
In the early afternoon, we begin our return journey to London, bidding farewell to new friends and the unforgettable landscapes and culture we’ve shared on this Highlands and Heritage tour.
